Happy Birthday (Party)!

Allie's 3rd birthday party was today and almost all of her friends from school were able to come as well as many of her friends from outside school.  It was a packed house but a lot of fun.

She got a Thomas the Train table from her dear friend Erik (Ri-ak, as she calls him) and all the kids hovered over it during the party.  It was clearly a huge hit.

We had two activities for the kids.  The first was a cupcake decorating station where the kids got to load cupcakes with frosting and sprinkles.  Allie and all the kids piled around the table shoveling cupcakes in as fast as they could but somehow managed not to smear frosting all over everything.  I was impressed.

After the cupcake novelty wore off, the kids moved on to a gift bag decorating station.  They seemed to have a lot of fun coloring, stickering, and glittering bags to take home their goody bag material in.

When it was finally time for us to sing "Happy Birthday", everyone was cupcaked out and Allie got a little bashful.  And then Jonathan laughed and blew out all the candles.  A quick re-light was in order and Allie rose to the occasion.

This was by far the most kid centric birthday we've had so far.  It's hard to believe that she's almost officially three years old, and it shocks me how much she's grown up since her birthday last year and (especially) the year before.  My baby is growing up so fast!
