Oh my goodness, Allie was a pain today. She had her first full-fledged tantrum this morning. She was throwing herself on the ground and screaming like some other child. Who is this kid?
But during physical therapy, she stood while not holding on to anything for a second or two. Her balance in getting better!
The cute penguin above is the new mascot for the Children's Hemiplegia and Stroke Association (CHASA), which is the organization that manages the listserv that has provided us with so much knowledge about strokes, therapies, and general life with a child with hemiparesis (weakness on one side of the body). Jonathan and I get up every morning and read the daily CHASA email and then gush about the great things that people have written about.
"Can you believe that Tommy got into the Gifted and Talented Program at his elementary school?!?!"
"I KNOW! Did you read about Amber's supinating her wrist!?"
Of course, things aren't always great. Sometimes we pout our mornings away because one of the kids got picked on at school or someone's seizures came back. It isn't always happy but it is always informative.
